From a family who left us over a year ago!
Dear friends at Stoke Row School,
Here is a picture of me (Myles) and my sisters, Paige and Freja. Paige and I are in our school uniform. This was taken at the start of the school year in January 2005. You will notice we both have broard brim hats on as part of our uniform, this is because Sorrento Primary School www.sorrentoprimsch.wa.edu.au has a NO HAT NO PLAY policy. My school is much larger than Stoke Row School but just as friendly so I have been able to make lots of friends, although I do miss you all a lot. My arm has healed very well and I take part in lots of sport at school. I got a ribbon for my faction (white) which won the Sports Day. After school I do Teakwondo, I am now a blue belt 1. Paige (Green belt) and Freja (orange belt) do Little Draggons which is Teakwondo for the littlies. We visit the site to catch up on news, but, please send an email to mum (Sylvia) on secove@hotmail.com and I will reply. Miss you all.

From a family that moved away last year...
Hi Catherine!
Just thought I'd say "Hello" as I've finally got an email address sorted. How are you? I've been keeping up to date through the website and it looks as though you've been as busy as usual! How was the 70's Night?
We're all fine. Keira and Anya have settled into school here, although they still miss Stoke Row and all their friends and talk about them daily! Fallon is going to playgroup three mornings a week which she enjoys, but she still talks about Pauline, Pam and Liz and her friends at Checkendon!
Sarah has been trying to get hold of a copy of the calendar for me since they were produced with no luck so far. Seems they are like gold dust - slightly more popular than the tea towels! Any hidden supplies anywhere?
I would also like to keep in touch with copies of the FOSRS minutes if thats ok.
Well I'd better be going now. Please give my best to everyone - hope you are all well and happy. The girls send their love to William and Molly. Please also feel free to pass on my email address to anyone who would like it!
Take care.
Karen Sparks.
READ THE LATEST NEW YEAR UPDATE FROM THE TIRELESS TRAVELLING TWOSOME
Dear Mr McTegart, staff and children,
Thank you very much for all the shoeboxes you filled
for Operation Christmas Child. I could not believe how many you had done!
Well done all of you.
I hope you will all do one again next year - it is
such a worthwhile cause. When you wake up on Christmas
Day and open your presents, just imagine the child
opening your shoebox. Even the bars of soap, tubes of
toothpasts, paper and pencils will delight them more
than you can imagine, because these things are in such
short supply.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of the term with all the
exciting Christmassy events, and that you all have a
very happy Christmas when it comes.
Yours sincerely,
Elizabeth J Ricketts (Samaritan's Purse representative)
ANOTHER E-MAIL HAS ARRIVED FROM OUR INTREPTID TRAVELLERS (Young teachers on the loose click here!)... 1ST November
RECEIVED FROM AN EX PUPIL... 30th October, 2004
Hi!
Just to say had a look at the site and I think it is cool. Brought back
a lot of memories. Also nice to see Mrs Hayward, Jan, Mrs Cummins,
Jane, oh and you (lol). The new extension is great. Could you say hi to everyone for me? I am doing ok (in Ireland) and due to leave school in May 05 but am staying on... don't faint now! I am staying on to get my leaving certificate as I am going to train to be a Garda (policeman)! Not bad for a kid who was always in trouble!
Say hi to Henry and Polly for me. Still miss England but we are all doing ok.
Take care - Dan the Man (Bonner)
RECEIVED FROM AN EX HEADTEACHER...
After reading the article in the Henley Standard
this week about the conservatory opening, I thought
‘I wonder if Ingrid has put more photos on the website’
and I was not disappointed! It looks wonderful – both
the website and the conservatory! Have to confess
to a little sadness at the passing of Patrick’s
elephant buttons but the website generally is one
to be extremely proud of, it must be one of the best
in the county. Congratulations! LG
A THANK YOU CARD reads...
Dear Mr McTegart, Staff, Pupils and Parents
Just a thank you note from St John's PCC to say
how beautiful the church looked for Harvest Festival.
Please thank the parents who worked so hard
to make it so, also for the many Harvest Gifts.
From D Stallwood, on behalf of the PCC
OCTOBER 2004
FROM A RED CLASS TEACHER, AND HIS WIFE, TAKING TIME OUT!
Dear all,
We've been travelling now for over two weeks so thought it was time to update you all on what we're up to. We started in San Francisco and had a great week, doing the typical touristy things - Alcatraz was quite eerie but really good. The cells they stayed in were small and looked really grim. Yvonne refused to even step inside! But, we have video evidence of me inside them. We saw some giant redwoods and walked around the park which was great, nice to get out of the city. We walked the Golden Gate Bridge, went to Sausalito which we both really liked, very chic, not that we were! We rode the cable cars which was great fun, hanging off! It was really hilly so you needed them.
We left San Francisco after 6 days and headed to LA - this was not a good trip! We had booked a coach that should have taken 6 hours. However, two Chinese guys picked us all up in 2 little minibuses and for the next hour we rode around San Francisco, stopping in petrol stations to ask the way and driving down one-way streets the wrong way. They spoke very little English and were lost! 10 and a half hours later, hot and tired we arrived in Hollywood. A Dutch guy photographed one of them doing 90 while on his mobile and threatened to report him to the police. There was a lot of camaraderie with all the passengers by the end of the journey. Looking back we can laugh, but these guys were the worst drivers around!
I'll let Yvonne write some now...
Hollywood was fun, but a day was enough. We did the cheesy celebrity tour which I must admit I enjoyed, not sure that Phil would admit that though. Even though we did see Britney's previous hangout! We stayed in the grimiest hostel that I ever seen though!
We were quite glad to leave Hollywood and head to the Cook Islands. The islands are beautiful, we only spent two nights on the main island Rarotonga and then flew to a little coral atoll, Aitutaki. We spent a week there and it was fantastic. The water was so clear and provided us with great snorkelling. We hired a scooter for the day which was great fun, in an hour and a half we had been around the entire island. We also went on a lagoon cruise where we did some fantastic snorkelling and had a locally prepared lunch on a tiny island which was nice.
We're now back on Rarotonga for the next 10 days, at the moment staying in a nice hostel, before going onto Fiji where we're planning to do our diving course. We're having a good time and enjoying the slow pace of island time.
Hope you are all well, let us know what you're up to.
Love from Phil and Yvonne
Doesn't sound like they are missing Red Class too much, does it!
What a great time they are having!
