ROUNDERS
Stoke Row v. Checkendon
One of our players said of the first game "It was a very hard match as it was a cold, drizzly day. The wind was very gusty. Checkendon played well but so did we! Sadly, we didn't win as we only scored 4 and they scored 7 rounders."

Another player spoke about the second game saying "... it wasn't as hard as the first game but it was still quite hard work. Checkendon batted first, but we won!"

So there you have it - one win to each school! We're all looking forward to the next match and hope the weather will be kinder to the dedicated supporters!

Henley Youth Festival
Recently, a team made up from Years 5 and 6 were the overall WINNERS of the Henley Youth Festival Football Competition.

Football Success

We also fared very well in the Henley Youth Festival Tag Rugby Competition. There is much sporting talent being displayed so well done to all the players and their dedicated supporters. These are outstanding results, given that we are such a small school!

After School Football Club
After School Football Club
For the next batch of up-and-coming 'Super Stars of the Future', we have also 'kicked off' an After School Football Club held in the grounds on a Monday after lessons. We are pleased to guided by the talented Paul Meakin, a professional coach from Oxford United Football Team.

TagRugby
Tag RugbyIn school, Tag Rugby Training has startted for Years 3 and 4 children. This is a great team game based on 'grown-up' rugby but rather than tackling opponents to the ground, a velcro strip is torn from a special belt worn by the players. Much more gentle antics for the youngsters!

FOOTBALL
Boys from Years 4, 5 and 6 took part in an exciting football match against Woodcote School on March 21st, the day before the end of the spring term. The boys and all the spectators enjoyed the game immensely and both sides demonstrated good football skills. The half-time score was one all, but superb management by Rachel Hayward in the second half helped Stoke Row edge to victory by three goals to one.

Two matches were played against Peppard School on the Rotherfield pitch in April, a Year 3/4 and a Year 5/6. Stoke Row were again victorious.
